Soap Box Derby

Help Save The All American Soap Box Derby

The All American Soap Box Derby has been an American institution since 1936. The race is run every year in Akron, Ohio. Unfortunately the derby has encountered financial problems and is in danger of closing down. An effort has been made by the city of Akron and actor/director Corbin Bernsen to help save the derby through a film entitled “25 Hill.” Former residents of Akron , songwriters Gary Garcia and Jerry Buckner (Pac Man Fever / WKRP In Cincinnati) decided to help out by composing a song entitled “Keepin’ The Dream Alive” and donating a portion of the proceeds to the derby. The song is available for download on all major music sites including CD Baby, Apple I-Tunes, and Napster.
